CAT Unit

Clerical, Administration and Training

The CAT Unit takes care of all the administrative duties of the Clubhouse, including publishing our monthly newsletter, preparing correspondence, collecting statistics from other units to evaluate the effectivness of the clubhouse, to reachout to absent members, data entry, producing the daily flyer, accounts, filing, faxing, and mail.

This month, the clerical unit has been even busier than usual! Preparing to host an international training group has involved a lot of blood sweat and tears.  We would like to extent a giant “thank you” to everyone who gave us a helping hand. We currently have twelve training colleagues with us- from Canfields Clubhouse in Beenleigh, Eureka Clubhouse in Tasmania, Ka-Pok Clubhouse in Hong Kong and Toowoomba Clubhouse. Our colleagues are spending three weeks with us, studying the International Clubhouse standards and watching how Stepping Stone works.  This is a very busy time for us and we love to have a many hands on deck as possible, so come in and pay us a visit!

Another exciting event has occurred this month- we have developed the Meet and Greet Team! The team aims increase member involvement in the new membership process.  The Meet and Greet team offers the opportunity for people to become involved with hospital outreach visits, Clubhouse tours and the orientation of new members. It is a great way to build communication skills, improve self confidence,  assist people to connect with the Clubhouse community and feel welcome in Stepping Stone. We would love get more people involved in this wonderful team, so come and see us in the CAT unit.

This month has seen a few other changes in the CAT Unit, we have 8 new computers installed and they have been a welcomed upgrade by all!
